Whether it's a giant stump left over after cutting down a tree, a tree stump that's been rotting in place for years, or a bunch of smaller stumps littering your lawn, our heavy-duty stump grinder will make quick work of it. You'll never know the stump was there!
We grind stumps to 3 inches (or more) below grade, then fill the hole with the wood chips. Alternatively, you can use the wood chips as mulch elsewhere in your yard and fill the hole with topsoil, allowing you to cover it with sod or plant a garden on top.
Six Reasons to Remove Stumps
- Tripping hazard for kids, guests, and lawn crews
- They're unsightly and hurt curb appeal
- Stumps attract termites, carpenter ants, and other pests
- Some species will re-sprout and regrow
- They make that section of yard unusable for landscaping
- They can transmit disease to nearby healthy trees
Can I Grind the Stump Myself?
The short answer is "no." Rented machines often struggle with larger stumps, and alternative DIY methods — like trying to pull stumps out with a truck — rarely succeed and regularly create serious hazards.
